A Passage to India: An Authentic Indian Pop-Up Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove
Sazoneros!! If you're following my moves on Twitter, you know I've been checking out new hot spots, hanging out with camels and attending the sexiest events around Miami. One of the best places I've been to this month is located in the heart of Coconut Grove. Inspired by the sazón of his hometown of Chennai, India, Executive Chef Ramesh Kaduru (pictured on the right) is the mastermind behind A Passage to India: An Authentic Indian Pop-Up Restaurant. The pop-up restaurant opened earlier this month at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove (inside their signature restaurant, Bizcaya). Trust me, you will feel like you've been transported to India! Menu selections include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options with traditional favorites such as Masala Shrimp, Chicken Tikka, Masala Dosa and Dal Makhani. I personally tend to shy away from spicy food and I was actually very pleased to find that every dish was delicious (and not spicy like I had imagined). As for the ambiance, did I mention that peacocks serve as the inspiration for the temporary restaurant's décor? A homage to India’s national bird of course! You'll also be treated to different sorts of Indian entertainment during your visit like musicians or dancers (it varies every night). A Passage to India: An Authentic Indian Pop-Up Restaurant will be open through Sunday, November 3rd (hours of operation: Thursday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.). Reservations are strongly recommended by calling (305) 644-4675. Bizcaya at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove is located at 3300 Southwest 27th Avenue, Coconut Grove, FL. Make sure to drop me a comment below if you visit the restaurant. Here's a preview of what you can expect to see during your visit...enjoy!
