Pantene Beautiful Lengths is coming to South Florida
Sazoneros! There are lots of reasons to give to others so that's why I wanted to share this amazing opportunity to do something meaningful next month. National Donate Your Hair Day (NDYHD) is a unifying day of giving that encourages people to cut and donate their ponytails to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a campaign to make real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments. In celebration of the second annual NDYHD, Pantene will bring pop-up salons to two Miami-area Walmart stores on Saturday, September 7th, at which local residents may donate their ponytails. In exchange for hair donation, shoppers will receive a free haircut from a professional stylist. All local residents willing to “PonyUp” at least 8 inches of hair are invited to attend. (Note: Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses and semi-permanent dyes, but cannot be bleached, permanently colored or chemically treated. Additionally, gray hair is difficult to use in the wig-making process, so hair may not be more than 5% gray at the time of donation.) Those unable to donate can still be involved by Tweeting their support for the program @Pantene using #BeautifulLengths. Since its creation in 2006, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has collected nearly 500,000 ponytails and has helped distribute more than 28,000 real-hair wigs through American Cancer Society wig banks across the country. Here are the two locations you can visit in Miami on September 7th to donate your locks:
