The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Key Biscayne unveils their $2 Million Makeover!

Sazoneros!! It's almost been a whole month since I write a post. Although I've been working and traveling, I couldn't wait to share my latest spa experience with you! After my recent trip to New York, I was invited by The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Key Biscayne to enjoy their newly renovated facility. It was the first time I chose to go with a massuer (a.k.a. a male therapist)! How did it go? I received a much needed 50 minute time out from the rest of the world while my body went into total relaxation mode. Did I mention it was a beautiful beach day so I also took a little trip down to Cantina Beach for lunch. Check out the gorgeous view from the restaurant on this picture...

As for the $2 million makeover, you'll be happy to know the new full service spa and wellness center features a mosaic waterfall, a jacuzzi, a sauna and a steam room. The fitness center expanded to include reception area with private day lockers, all new state-of-the-art cardiovascular/weight equipment an…

JetBlue Airways hosts "Destination Saturdays" at HaVen Gastro-Lounge

Lately, I've been thinking of taking a little trip somewhere! That's why I got excited when I heard about this upcoming JetBlue Airways event in Miami. In case you haven't heard the news, JetBlue Airways will begin a new route service to Lima, Peru, on Thurs., Nov. 21st (a.k.a. MY BIRTHDAY!!!), offering daily nonstop flights from Ft. Lauderdale to Lima. To celebrate this new route and the rich culinary scenes found in both cities, the airline has tapped popular local chef Todd Erickson of HaVen Gastro-Lounge to serve as South Florida's culinary ambassador in a "South Florida-Meets-Peru Chef Collaboration." His counterpart is one of Peru's most talented chefs,Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, who helms the kitchen at MALABAR restaurant in Lima.

London-based Artist RYCA is coming to Wynwood's Second Saturday Art Walk in November

Sazoneros! Miamians have been raving about the talent that's flourishing and emerging in Wynwood so I'd love to share an upcoming exhibition with you. For my art lovers out there, you'll be happy to know that the Robert Fontaine Gallery will showcase new works by London-based artist RYCA in a solo exhibition entitled “REFRESH.” With influences ranging from Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein to Banksy and Shepard Fairey, RYCA brings a fresh, light-hearted approach to the easily reproduced aesthetic of pop and stencil art in the digital age. RYCA's work focuses on Star Wars iconography, comic books, and cult sci-fi movies. In REFRESH, he’s taken classic Warhol imagery and replaced its subject with Star Wars and other movie references. RYCA’s work at REFRESH includes a life-size screen print of the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future, as well as a portrait of Sigourney Weaver in her iconic space helmet from Aliens.Sounds cool right? The opening reception wil…

A Passage to India: An Authentic Indian Pop-Up Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove

Sazoneros!! If you're following my moves on Twitter, you know I've been checking out new hot spots, hanging out with camels and attending the sexiest events around Miami. One of the best places I've been to this month is located in the heart of Coconut Grove. Inspired by the sazón of his hometown of Chennai, India, Executive Chef Ramesh Kaduru (pictured on the right) is the mastermind behind A Passage to India: An Authentic Indian Pop-Up Restaurant. The pop-up restaurant opened earlier this month at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove (inside their signature restaurant, Bizcaya). Trust me, you will feel like you've been transported to India! Menu selections include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options with traditional favorites such as Masala Shrimp, Chicken Tikka, Masala Dosa and Dal Makhani. I personally tend to shy away from spicy food and I was actually very pleased to find that every dish was delicious (and not spicy like I had imagined). As for the ambiance, …

Fontainebleau Miami Beach "Goes Pink" for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Sazoneros! October 1st marks the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In true Miami fashion, I headed down to Miami Beach to watch history in the making. For the first time ever, Fontainebleau Miami Beach (pictured above) has turned "pink" inside and out in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month as part of their annual “Bleau Goes Pink” initiative in partnership with Susan G. Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. The original Morris Lapidus-designed Chateau Tower opened in 1954 will be lit throughout October, along with light installations in the hotel lobby by artist James Turrell. I attended their special lighting ceremony yesterday at the iconic hotel where local supporters of the cause also gathered to register for the upcoming Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Make sure to check out their website for all of the details on the race which will take place on October 19th at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 in New York City!

Sazoneros!! I'm finally getting a chance to share one of the most exciting trips I've ever taken to New York City. This was my second year in a row attending the fabulous runway shows inside of the Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Fashion is on another level in the big apple and I definitely felt inspired to take more risks when it comes to my own personal style. I hope you'll enjoy checking out a few of my pictures from my trip to NYC below. I've made sure to include a bit of everything so that you can get a better feel for my overall experience. My first show of the week: BCBG Max Azria! I actually sat in the second row right behind Nina Garcia (pictured on the left), Creative Director of Marie Claire Magazine and Project Runway Judge. The BCBG show was amazing so scroll down to watch a quick video I took during the grand finale. I've only shared one picture from the show because I was too distracted by the beauty walking down the runway. The sho…

Gloria Estefan Celebrates the Release of "The Standards"

It's been an amazing day my Sazoneros! I had the pleasure of meeting and listening to Gloria Estefan speak about her new album called "The Standards" which will be available for purchase on September 10th. If you love songs like "What A Wonderful Day" by Louis Armstrong or "Young at Heart" by Frank Sinatra, you will love Gloria's rendition of these classic tunes. I sat right in front of her as she shared the inspiration and the meaning behind her latest project. "The Standards" will touch listeners all over the world this month because Gloria sang and recorded the album in English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and French. Estefan even collaborated with award-winning artists like singer songwriter Laura Pausini, violinist Joshua Bell and saxophonist Dave Koz. The entire album was assembled by the "best of the best" as you'll see in the video at the bottom of my post. Today's press event was extra special because Gloria j…
